The first production facility with a validated clean room
Datwyler, a Swiss industrial company, makes rubber for closures caps, stoppers and syringes used in drug delivery systems. The product range is divided into 3 main categories: "FIRST-LINE", "ADVANCED" and "ESSENTIAL".
The first factory for the production of the first category was realized in Alken, Belgium. It was the first production facility with a validated clean room in the Datwyler Group. Concepts of lean manufacturing and GMP practices were applied.
The particular challenge was the integration of the existing building with the current production activities, process equipment, operators, logistics and techniques.
Correct validation from the outset ensured rapid product qualification and hence "on-time" production at full capacity.
