KUL - Nanocentre Corelab 1B
KULeuven in collaboration with CRC Engineering
A multidisciplinary research environment
The center merges different engineering and physics disciplines to create a multidisciplinary research environment to promote innovative concepts, such as micro-scaled energy harvesters, flexible sensors and displays on textiles, nanometer precise motors and air bearings. Sensor piloted micro dosing capsules and surgical robots for new medicine: groundbreaking application fields become within reach.
The mission of this new infrastructure is for researchers to cross-fertilize and intensify their research by a multidisciplinary span of manufacturing techniques for the micro- and nanometer scale and applications. The infrastructure includes vibration-free laboratories for sensitive characterization and process equipment, a clean room for the next generation MEMS, a nanomaterial fabrication laboratory and sample preparation areas for organics and non-organics.
