Plasma Industries in collaboration with CRC Engineering
A cGMP cleanroom environment
Plasma Industries is a company founded in 1957 by the Belgian Red Cross.
In the production unit in Neder-Over heembeek the fractionation of 500.000 liters/year of blood plasma takes place. Using high-tech and innovative processes, they isolate valuable proteins from the plasma.
Plasma Industries takes care of the preparation of cryo-paste, fraction II, fraction V and DS-Eluates. These fractions are the basis for producing drugs that help patients with blood clotting problems, a lowered immune system, an insufficient blood volume or who suffer from hereditary angioedema. This process takes place in a cleanroom environment in order to guarantee the quality of the pharmaceutical products imposed by the European and American cGMP guidelines. CRC engineering assisted the client to realize this.
