VITO - Adiabatic cooling

A geothermal project with an automated PLC system

As part of the geothermal project on the site of the Flemish Institute for Technological Development (VITO), CRC Engineering provides the hydraulic coupling of the cooling system with adiabatic (dry) coolers for an application with ORC devices. The system is controlled by an automatic PLC.

On the water side, a branch was provided for connecting the geothermal system with the cooling system by means of a plate heat exchanger (emergency heat exchanger) with a water regime of 124/80°C.

The production of cooling water is realized by adiabatic coolers.
